Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Farah Ahmed is a highly accomplished attorney who structures and negotiates some of the largest and most complex real estate transactions in New York and beyond. She represents commercial real estate investors, operators, lenders, and developers in transactions ranging from financing and joint ventures to acquisitions and dispositions.
In her career, Ahmed successfully represented S.L. Green Realty Corp. in its 2023 sale of a 49.9% stake in 245 Park Avenue, a deal valued at $2 billion. She also represented Global Student Accommodations Group in its $1-billion student housing portfolio buy and Certares in its many hotel acquisitions, joint ventures and financing.
Ahmed has volunteered for Xavier Mission’s “Welcome Table” and is a long-time advisory board member for New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate, where she helps develop academic programs.
Ahmed is widely recognized within the legal industry for her outstanding work and commitment to excellence in client service. Among her many honors, she is consistently listed as a leading real estate finance attorney in The Legal 500, Super Lawyers, and Chambers USA Guide. In addition, she was named a “Next Generation Partner” by The Legal 500 each year since 2021, and she was recently recognized in the inaugural Lawdragon 500 guide to the Leading Global Real Estate Lawyers of 2024.
