Susan E. Demmitt is a member with Gammage & Burnham. Her practice includes negotiating development and infrastructure reimbursement agreements, impact fee agreements, community facilities districts, annexations, transactional counseling, development permitting, administrative proceedings and strategic oversight of public outreach campaigns. She has experience as the architect of regulatory structures for master-planned communities. Demmitt also has well-established relationships with Arizona State Land Department officials and works regularly with clients regarding the leasing and acquisition of State Trust Land.
Activities included drafting zoning regulations and managing the entitlement and acquisition process for an innovative 500-acre master-planned community in Mesa, AZ. Demmitt also managed the entitlement process for a 400-acre Phoenix master-planned community, including facilitating a public-private partnership with the City to construct a critical arterial roadway corridor.
Demmitt is a member of the State Bar of Arizona Real Property Section, Valley Partnership, ULI Women’s Leadership Initiative, Arizona Planning Association, Arizona Women Lawyers Association and National Association of Home Builders Professional Women in Building Council. She is also a former adjunct professor at Arizona State University and a former member of the Town of Cave Creek Planning Commission.
She has been ranked in the Top 100 Lawyers by AZ Business Magazine and recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA.
