Derek Sorenson is a real estate attorney with a national practice advising clients on commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, developments, leasing and financing projects.

Sorenson focuses on commercial real estate law, mining law, and project finance. His transactional practice emphasizes representing commercial real estate owners and operators in negotiating acquisition, development, entitlement, leasing, financing, and joint venture agreements. He also advises mining companies on acquisitions, development, operations, and financing of facilities throughout the Midwest and Southwest.

Recent matters have involved the development of regional shopping centers, mixed-use projects, resort and hospitality projects, and office facilities across Arizona.

Sorenson graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School and was previously a partner with Ballard Spahr LLP and Quarles & Brady LLP.
