As a shareholder and principal with Datsopoulos, MacDonald, & Lind, William VanCanagan handles commercial and business transactions, land use, venture capital transactions and real estate matters. In addition to other areas, VanCanagan specializes in complex land use matters, including subdivision and zoning law, where he represents private landowners and developers before state and federal regulatory agencies.

He graduated from Stanford University with an undergraduate degree in economics. He then obtained his JD from the University of Montana and earned a master’s of law degree from Boston University.

This is why William VanCanagan received Connect CRE’s 2024 Chicago & Midwest Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
