Worked with the buyer of a 22-asset pool of performing office loans in four states
As a partner at King & Spalding in the Real Estate and Funds practice, Danna Horton concentrates on real estate finance, representing lenders in loan originations and landlords in ground lease originations, with a strong secondary focus on loan purchase and sales.
She represents publicly traded and private banking institutions, insurance companies, family offices, real estate companies and private equity funds in the origination, acquisition, disposition, and restructuring of mortgage and mezzanine construction. Horton also handles bridge and balance sheet loans concerning acquiring, developing, redeveloping, and refinancing various asset classes throughout the United States.
Notable activities include representing a national bank in its $175-million construction loan to build a luxury condominium in Florida. Horton also represented the buyer of a 22-asset pool of performing office loans in New York, Washington, D.C., California and Maryland and represented an investment company in obtaining $245 million in mortgage loans secured by four newly developed build-to-rent gated townhome communities.
Horton is a fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. She is a board member of The Breakthrough Board and played a key role in furthering King & Spalding’s commitment to pro bono work and developing the firm’s next generation of lawyers. She serves on the firm-wide Pro Bono Committee and co-leads the pro bono program for the Chicago office.
This is why Danna Horton received Connect CRE’s 2024 Chicago & Midwest Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
