Serves as lead advisor for Bardas Investment’s 320,000-square-foot Echelon Studios

As Chair of DLA Piper’s California Real Estate and Land Use Practice, Jerry Neuman represents individuals and companies in obtaining local government licenses, permits, rights or contracts. Neuman has extensive experience in complex regulatory and legislative issues.

He has also been the lead negotiator and project coordinator for many of Southern California’s important real estate, green energy, infrastructure, and governmental procurement projects. His experience includes obtaining environmental clearances under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Deals include representation of Schrager Co. in its renovation of the historic Standard Hotel in West Hollywood. He also is lead advisor and counsel for Bardas Investment Group’s 320,000 mixed-use Echelon Studios.

Neuman is one of only a few lawyers to serve as advisor on the development of communities throughout California, including Fresno. In Los Angeles, Neuman worked on the Mixed-Income Housing Technical Advisory Committee, advising on local issues in the mayor’s direction.

Newman is a founding director of Mission Valley Bank and is on the executive boards of many of the most important commercial and charitable organizations in Los Angeles. He is on the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles’s real estate committee and the ULI’s Urban Development Mixed-Use Council. He is a frequent lecturer at the University of Southern California and Loyola Marymount University and is an adjunct professor at the Southern California Institute of Architecture.

This is why Jerry Neuman received Connect CRE’s 2024 California Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
