Carol Rosenthal is a partner with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. In this role, she brings her substantial and broad-based experience to overall project development, public-private initiatives, housing, transportation and other development. She represents clients in transferring development rights, government acquisitions and turnkey developments.

Highlights include advising Olayan America, Chelsfield and RXR Realty in land use work and other approvals for the redevelopment and repositioning of 550 Madison Avenue; representing Durst Organization on the redevelopment of its block and “Via” building at 57th Street and Eleventh Avenue; and handling office-to-residential building conversions for numerous developers including 180 Water Street.

A former associate counsel to the New York City Department of Planning and adjunct professor at New York Law School, Rosenthal frequently teaches at conferences and seminars for clients and professional organizations and has contributed numerous articles and papers for publication.

She is a trustee and serves on the Citizens Budget Commission’s executive committee, as a board member of the Van Alen Institute, The Real Estate Board of New York, Inc.’s Zoning and Design Committee, and the Cityland’s advisory board.

Rosenthal is a member of Fried Frank’s Women’s Forum Planning Committee and was part of the firm’s Nominating Committee and the Associate-Partner Committee.
