Mihir Patel is Vice President—Team Leader, Commercial Real Estate at TIAA Bank in San Diego. In 2022, he led the completion of 18 transactions totaling more than $286 million.
He helped finance assets across several property types in more than a dozen markets, including multifamily, self-storage, retail, office and student housing properties.
Patel also structured transactions with clients’ business strategies in mind. He provided both short-term and long-term debt with a variety of prepayment structures, forward rate lock executions and borrower structures. In one situation, he helped provide financing to a foreign national, implementing a forward rate lock for an apartment property in lease-up.
