Matt Berres is a Vice Chairman with Newmark’s Net Lease Capital Markets group in Irvine, CA. In his role, he leads a select team of Capital Markets professionals who specialize in the sale, purchase and recapitalization of net leased retail, industrial, medical, government and office properties throughout the United States.
During 2022, Berres and his team closed 44 transactions totaling $458.6 million. Notable transactions included completion of a 1031 exchange of an Amazon logistics property in Grimes, IA (sub-4% cap rate); the acquisition of a Mariano’s grocery store (and adjacent property) in downtown Chicago (mid-4% cap rate); a transaction of a medical office portfolio featuring seven dialysis centers; and the sale of a Carvana in Orlando, FL.
