In 2022, Cushman & Wakefield’s (C&W) Marc D. Renard and his team completed over 16 capital markets transactions with a total deal value of over $1 billion, brokering some of the West Coast’s most prominent investment sales of the year. Despite the disruptions in the equity and debt capital markets, the team remained extremely active and closed on nearly half a billion dollars of transactions in the fourth quarter of 2022 alone.
Notable transactions include:
• The Vermont – Two high-rise towers containing 464 apartment homes in Los Angeles for $235 million, which was one of the largest urban transactions in Los Angeles in 2022
• Warner Villa – 324-unit apartment community in Woodland Hills, CA for $134.5 million
• Waterstone at Moorpark – 312-unit apartment community in Moorpark, CA for $127 million
Renard is Executive Vice Chair of C&W’s Global Capital Markets Group. As the leader of one of the nation’s most successful capital market groups, Renard and his team have closed over 550 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $38 billion. He has been involved in many of the largest and most complex deals in the Western United States. He has consistently been recognized as C&W’s Top Investment Broker in the Western Region and/or in California.
Renard serves on the Executive Committee of USC’s Lusk Center for Real Estate, the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics at UC Berkeley, and the advisory council of the National Multifamily Housing Council. He is also a member of the Milken Institute, Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and NAIOP.
Renard is a frequent guest speaker at industry events, has appeared as a leading industry expert on a variety of news shows on Bloomberg, and is widely quoted in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Fortune. He was also the recipient of the Los Angeles Times‘ new prestigious Visionary Award in Real Estate for 2021 and 2022, as well as other individual accolades from various news sources in recent years.
