Aided in closing more than $2 billion in financing

Joined Colliers as an intern, rose through the ranks to his current position

Sean Burke is a Vice President on the Institutional Debt & Equity team for Colliers Boston, one of the largest structured finance platforms in New England. In this role, he provides planning, advising and execution of client capitalization strategies for all asset types.

Burke joined Colliers as an intern while still attending Boston College but was quickly hired as a full-time analyst. This led to a production role where his diligence and unparalleled work ethic made him indispensable to the capital markets platform.

Leveraging an extensive network of capital sources, Burke has aided in closing more than $2 billion in permanent, construction, bridge, mezzanine and joint venture equity funding. He has been involved in several of the region’s distinctive projects. One of these included the recent arrangement of $192.5 million in construction financing for the speculative development of 100 Chestnut Street, a four-story, 208,616-square-foot Gensler-designed life sciences facility in Somerville, MA’s Brickbottom District.

His team has been ranked as Colliers’ #1 debt team in North America. Though Boston-based, the team has a national presence and also handles financing projects throughout the country. This includes the $1.2-billion refinancing transaction for Grand Canyon University in Arizona in 2021, the largest real estate related financing ever completed in the state of Arizona.

Burke is involved in organizations throughout Boston and is a member of the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA) and NAIOP.

These are just a few reasons we chose Sean Burke as one of Connect CRE Boston & New England’s 2023 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s seventh annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
