Involved with I-95 infrastructure development Providence Viaduct

Active with Skanska's Young Professionals and Women's Network programs

Bridget Murphy joined Skanska in July 2020. As a Field Engineer, she is responsible for planning and scheduling, concrete placements, tracking production, and cost codes and supply. Murphy is currently working on the Providence Viaduct, a design-build project on Interstate 95 in Providence, RI, to redefine and improve traffic operations and structural design.

As part of her work for the Providence Viaduct project, Murphy leads site tours. These give her colleagues, including those in Skanska’s Young Professionals group, active interns and employees on Skanska’s Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Human Resources teams, a better understanding of the field aspects of construction projects. Furthermore, Murphy recently led an on-site tour for MOLES’ Annual Students Day, an opportunity for junior-year members aspiring to be in the construction industry. The tour provided an “open-air walking classroom” experience.

Murphy is an active leader within Skanska’s Young Professionals group and active participant and member of the Skanska Women’s Network mentorship program. The latter facilitates multiple volunteer opportunities with Saint Mary’s. St. Mary’s Center works collaboratively with more than 500 women and families annually through adult family shelter programs, a pregnant and parenting teen/young mothers’ program, a transitional housing program, and workforce development and adult education programs.

These are just a few reasons we chose Bridget Murphy as one of Connect CRE Boston & New England’s 2023 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s seventh annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
