As a partner in Gould & Ratner’s Real Estate Practice, Dan Crowley represents owners, operators, investors and lenders in nearly all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. He helps clients acquire, finance and lease commercial properties both in and beyond Chicago.
Crowley currently represents 601W Companies, owners of the long-vacant Old Chicago Main Post Office, He has helped advise 601W on a variety of matters relating to the $800-million restoration of the historic structure, from acquisition and renovation, to refinancing and lease negotiations.
Crowley’s other efforts during the past several years include negotiating COVID-related lease workouts on behalf of landlords, advising a lender on a $5-million credit facility for an air purification systems manufacturer and serving as lead lease and property management counsel for properties in excess of five million rentable square feet of office space in downtown Chicago.
Crowley is a confident practitioner with a thirst to understand deals from every angle, whether legal or business in nature. His ability to relate to people and his success led him to be named to U.S. News’ 2022 Best Lawyers to Watch list.
Crowley is active in his industry as a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), where he sits on the Public Policy Committee. He is also a member of the Real Estate Investment Association and the Chicago Mortgage Attorneys Association. Additionally, he volunteers his time and support to several civic and community groups, including the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago, the Special Olympics Chicago, Special Children’s Charities and the Toys for Tots Foundation.
