As Newmark’s Managing Director, Maurice Spikes, Jr. provides clients with leading-edge real estate services, having completed lease transactions valued at $1 billion. Specializing in both landlord and tenant representation, Spikes is currently assigned to lease more than 1 million square feet of life science and office space, completing two of the largest transactions in the San Francisco market in 2021 and 2022.
Spikes enhances client trust levels with his attention to detail, an ability to vet financial comparisons throughout the full negotiation from LOI to lease execution, and by providing strategic advice and counsel during the ever-changing market conditions.
He is known for being self-motivated, reliant, and going above and beyond to deliver exceptional outcomes for his clients. His creativity allows him to solve complex real estate issues, elevating him to the ranks of a leading strategist in the marketplace. Internally, Spikes is a team leader, and is committed to training and mentoring younger agents.
In addition to his career success, Spikes developed a panel for Black History Month, which catered to all people and ages, with the encouragement to give back to the community. The panel also provided insight into various careers, such as real estate, legal, venture capital, life science and tech start-ups.
These are just a few reasons we chose Spikes as one of California’s 2022 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s sixth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
