John D. Goodman
Oversees Community Manager Platform Suite of products, such as Enterprise Smart Home
Author and expert of Internet of Things
While in college at NYU, led the school's "Business Analyst Innovation Project's" winning team
John D. Goodman’s job at SmartRent is to oversee the Community Manager Platform suite of products and services. This includes the Enterprise Smart Home, accounting for 95% of the company’s $110.6 million revenue in 2021.
In addition to his job as Senior Project Manager, Goodman is an Internet of Things expert, authoring articles on the topic, as well as being and advanced business writer of Jira, Jira Align, Jira Structure, Confluence, MS Office and G Suite. At age 23, at his first year of college, Goodman led the “Business Analyst Innovation Project’s” winning team; the project was a New York Stock Exchange national initiative.
When he received his MBA from New York University at 27 years old, he was hired by RING, where he helped launch and manage Works as part of that company’s accessories business. He also developed a new computer vision-based subscription tier, a first-of-its-kind service. Goodman helped double RING’s annual revenues, making it attractive to Amazon Inc., which purchased the company in 2019. He joined SmartRent in 2021.
These are just a few reasons we chose Goodman as one of California’s 2022 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s sixth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
