Nicole De Bare is a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, where she represents developers, investors, lenders and nonprofit and educational institutions in complex real estate transactions. Her practice includes condominium and cooperative structuring, financing, leasing, joint ventures and other matters in New York and nationally.
De Bare has built long-standing relationships with major New York developers, including Vornado Realty Trust and Extell Development Company. Her work for Vornado has included the 220 Central Park South development, the sale of Uniqlo’s Fifth Avenue flagship store and a landmark 70-year master lease and commercial condominium transaction with New York University involving more than one million square feet at 770 Broadway.
For Extell, she handled the condominium conversion of International Gem Tower and the billion-dollar residential development at 50 W. 66th St.
A leader in the firm’s Women’s Initiative Committee, De Bare mentors associates and advocates for women’s professional development. Her pro bono work includes the Family Court Volunteer Attorney Program and assistance to affordable housing nonprofit Phipps Houses. She also speaks at industry forums.
She has been recognized as a GlobeSt. Women of Influence, New York Real Estate Journal’s Ones to Watch – Industry Leaders and Thomson Reuters’ New York Metro Super Lawyers.
These are just a few reasons Nicole De Bare is among the New York & Tri-State Connect CRE 2026 Women in Real Estate Award winners. The award honors the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
