HKS Real Estate Advisors Surpasses $30 Billion in Transactions Since 2011

Company:

HKS Real Estate

Founded in 2011 by Ayush Kapahi and John Harrington, HKS Real Estate Advisors grew from a three-person debt brokerage into a 14-person, full-service capital markets platform with more than $30 billion in cumulative transaction volume. The firm advises clients on debt and equity, direct lending, joint ventures, recapitalizations and development financing across multiple asset classes.

The firm has expertise in distressed debt, nonperforming loan workouts, C-PACE financing, special situations and off-market transactions. Its capital network spans regional and community banks, CMBS lenders, institutional investors and Wall Street securitizations.

HKS notable deals include oversight of a $388.5-million construction loan for a 561-unit, 46-story mixed-use tower at 30-25 Queens Boulevard in Long Island City. Other recent transactions include a $148-million construction loan for a multifamily development in Hialeah, FL; a $101-million construction loan for the 392-unit Flushing Square Plaza in Queens; and a $103.75 million refinancing of a 356-unit student-housing community backed by a sovereign wealth fund.

HKS has been recognized by Connect CRE, GlobeSt/Real Estate Forum, Real Estate Capital USA and Commercial Observer.

These are some of the reasons why HKS Real Estate was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Dealmaker of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
