Walker & Dunlop’s Mo Beler and Jonathan Paine Advise on $40 Billion in Transactions

Company:

Walker & Dunlop

Mo Beler and Jonathan Paine, senior managing directors and co-heads of Walker & Dunlop’s Capital Markets Equity & Structured Finance platform, have represented over $40 billion in real estate transactions during their careers.

The pair lead a national practice arranging institutional and private equity investments across multifamily, industrial, office, retail, mixed-use and alternative assets. Their platform has advised on more than $6.8 billion in equity placements across 226 transactions, including 14 property types and 11 transaction structures.

Beler specializes in equity placements and strategic capital raises, while Paine brings development experience to capital structuring.

Recent assignments include a $630.5-million recapitalization of an 11-property multifamily development portfolio. They also led a $350 million capitalization for the first two phases of a six-phase luxury residential development combining for-sale and rental housing.

Another assignment focused on a $250-million, two-tranche programmatic joint venture that provided approximately $1 billion in purchasing power for self-storage acquisitions, redevelopments and expansions.

These are some of the reasons why Mo Beler and Jonathan Paine were selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Dealmaker of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
