Jamie May Leads JBM to $20 Billion+ in Multifamily Sales

Company:

JBM Multifamily Advisors

Jamie May, founder and CEO of JBM Institutional Multifamily Advisors, has spent more than 26 years in Florida multifamily brokerage, building a firm focused on institutional and major private owners. JBM has completed more than $20 billion in multifamily transactions involving 176,000-plus units.

JBM has maintained more than 70% market share in Southwest Florida, where it has been active since 2000.

The firm handled seven transactions totaling $472 million in 2025, including the 264-unit Centro, the 200-unit Coastal Village student housing property and the 280-unit Estero Oaks in Lee County. It also sold Collective at Archer, a 172-unit build-to-rent community in Gainesville that represented the market’s highest-per-unit, market-rate institutional transaction of 2025.

In 2026, JBM sold The Preserve at Tampa Palms, a 378-unit value-add community in New Tampa. The transaction pushed JBM’s cumulative business with Inland Real Estate Group above $1 billion across 18 transactions and more than 5,100 units since 2010.

May has been recognized by CoStar and Connect CRE. JBM participates in the National Multifamily Housing Council and Urban Land Institute, including ULI Florida’s Multifamily Development Council.

These are some of the reasons why JBM Institutional Multifamily Advisors was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Dealmaker of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
