Represents local, national and international lenders in financial transactions
As a partner with McDermott Will & Emery, Elena Otero has a dual practice advising real estate developers and investors in various land development, construction, and venture capital-backed projects and joint ventures across all asset classes. These include condominiums, mixed-use developments, hotels, restaurants, retail and office buildings.
She advises ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and family offices on real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leases, and investments, emphasizing luxury residential and high-end commercial properties. Additionally, Otero represents local, national and international financial institutions and lenders in the full spectrum of real estate-related commercial lending transactions.
Otero is a member of CREW-Miami (where she served in several leadership positions) and the Urban Land Institute.
Committed to creating opportunities and building stronger communities, Otero serves in various leadership positions for legal advocacy and charitable organizations. She also provides pro bono legal services to underserved individuals and families. Community organizations include United Way of Miami, Habitat for Humanity and the Children’s Home Society of Florida (Southeastern Division).
She’s been recognized by Super Lawyers Florida (Rising Star), the South Florida Legal Guide (Top Up and Comer) and the Daily Business Review (Florida Legal Award).
These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Elena Otero with Connect CRE’s 2023 Florida & Gulf Coast Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
