Led team that obtained $30-million settlement for the Estate of Eastern Air Lines
Alan T. Dimond offers over 40 years of “first chair” experience in commercial and real estate-related litigation. In addition to local and regional real estate developers, key clients have included American Express, Avatar Holdings, Inc., Avatar Real Estate Services, Fisher Island Holdings, LLC, General Growth Properties, Lee County, Florida, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, Miami-Dade County, Florida, National Marine Manufacturers Association, Neiman Marcus, Northern Trust Bank, Paxon Communications and The Related Group.
He has acted as lead litigation attorney for Fisher Island’s developer and represented Bayside Marketplace LLC for General Growth Properties in several challenges to the City of Miami referendum on a long-term lease extension. He also led the trial team that obtained a $30-million settlement for the Estate of Eastern Air Lines from various insurance companies based on environmental damage at several major U.S. airports.
Dimond is past president of the Florida Bar and past chair of the American Bar Association’s Commission on the American Jury. He’s an adjunct professor with the University Miami School of Law and a member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors. He previously served in leadership positions on the boards of the Jackson Memorial Hospital Foundation, George Washington University Law School and the United Way.
Dimond received his Martindale-Hubbell AV preeminent ranking and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. Litigation named him “Lawyer of the Year,” and he’s listed as South Florida Legal Guide’s “Top Lawyer.”
Dimond earned his law degree from the George Washington University Law School.
