Barbara J. Ferrer is a shareholder in Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson’s Real Estate Department and Banking and Finance group. She represents buyers, sellers, lenders and developers in acquiring, financing, developing, constructing and disposing of various large-scale commercial real estate projects. She also represents institutional lenders in real estate-secured and asset-based loans, including construction loans, factoring arrangements, public-private financing, low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), affordable housing equity, and debt financing.
Ferrer is also Resia’s (formerly known as AHS Residential) national outside general counsel.
Notable transactions include representing a national multifamily developer in several states in the acquisition, disposition, ground lease, development and construction of large-scale projects. She also represented a lender in a $90-million syndicated construction loan to redevelop land and build a Florida-based Marriott hotel and timeshare project.
Ferrer is a member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Latin Builders Association, the Cuban American Bar Association and CREW-Miami. She is recognized by Chambers U.S.A. and The Best Lawyers of America and was named Top Lawyer by the South Florida Legal Guide.
Ferrer received her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law.
