Dowd Drives Operational Excellence Across McShane Construction
As McShane’s Operations Manager, Sarah Dowd oversees daily operations and conducts project audits to ensure efficiency and compliance with company standards. Working closely with leadership, she aligns operational strategies with business goals while supporting project planning and execution. She also monitors and refines administrative procedures for optimal performance.
Dowd was instrumental in the success of Overture Yorktown, a 175-unit luxury senior living residence in Yorktown, IL, which faced significant construction challenges, including contaminated soil and underground obstructions.
She was also involved in the construction of 23rd Place at Southbridge, a two-building, transit-oriented, 206-unit mixed-income apartment community located on the site of the former Harold Ickes Homes public housing complex on Chicago’s Near South Side.
Dowd led the implementation of McShane’s primary project management software across the entire company. She oversees McShane’s internal educational and training program, which offers project management teams new operational solutions while aligning processes across all five McShane offices.
Dowd serves on McShane’s Developing Leaders program to evaluate the firm’s strengths, weaknesses and opportunities in technology. She is also involved with the company’s mentoring program, where she provides guidance and support to employees with less than five years of experience.
These are just a few reasons we chose Sarah Dowd as one of Connect CRE’s Chicago & Midwest Next Generation Award winners. Connect CRE’s annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
