Led team in handling multi-phase Fulton Market district redevelopment

Part of the team that advises a client with the 18-acre North Union project

Katherine (Katie) Jahnke Dale has led the zoning and entitlement process for numerous transformational projects. She was promoted to partner in 2020, has been leading DLA Piper’s Chicago real estate group since 2022 and was named co-managing partner of the Chicago and Minneapolis offices in 2024.

Notable matters include leading the team in representing the Vista Property Group with its multi-phase Fulton Market District development. The first phase broke ground in May 2025 and consists of a 32-story, 539,000-square-foot mixed-use tower. She is also part of the team that advises JDL Development with its landmark, 18-acre North Union project on the Near North Side.

Dale was president of the Real Estate Finance Forum (REFF). She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Chicago. She participates on the Board of the Civic Consulting Alliance, on the Executive Advisory Committee and as Chair of the Audit Committee of Illinois EDC, as chair of the Programs Committee and co-chair of her local product council for the ULI, and as a campaign cabinet member for United Way of Metro Chicago.

These are some of the reasons why Katie Jahnke Dale received Connect CRE’s 2025 Chicago & Midwest Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
