Kristina Kopf Thomas is Co-Head of Global Real Estate and Planning and US Real Estate Practice Group Leader at Eversheds Sutherland. She oversees the US real estate work of nearly 40 attorneys in the firm’s Georgia, Illinois, New York, Texas and Washington DC offices with deals in every state and major real estate market. She collaborates with her co-head, UK-based partner James Trafford, to empower the firm’s 400-plus real estate attorneys worldwide to take on a range of major matters for global leaders in real estate. She was appointed to her current position in January 2024.

Her notable work includes advising MDH Partners in the $1.26 billion sale of its 58-property, 9.7 million-square-foot Sunbelt Logistics Portfolio to a global institutional investor. Thomas also represented RangeWater Real Estate in development and financing matters connected with a $140-million, 50-acre residential community comprised of single-family and multifamily housing.

Thomas is active in Eversheds Sutherland’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts and initiatives, including its internal Women’s Leadership Initiative affinity network. Her pro bono work includes counseling the Andrew P. Stewart Center and the Resources for Residents and Communities (RRC).

 In the community, she’s on the Midtown Alliance board and represents her firm for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the advisory council for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity and previously served on its board of directors for two terms.

Thomas has been recognized by Chambers USA, Legal 500 United States, and The Best Lawyers in America in Real Estate Law. GlobeSt. named her a “Woman of Influence” in the CRE Legal Counsel category.

This is why Kristina Kopf Thomas received Connect CRE’s 2024 National Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
