Member of the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts
Kelly Shubic Weiner is co-chair of Venable’s Commercial Real Estate Group, a national group of 40-plus lawyers that she leads with a focus on teamwork to deliver practical guidance and effective execution on every aspect of commercial real estate activity for Venable clients.
Weiner’s passion is working with clients in the hospitality industry. In over 20 years of advising hospitality-focused clients, she has represented the business interests of international hotel and lodging companies, private owners and investors, lenders and special servicers in the development, purchase, financing, operations and sale of hotels, resorts and branded residences projects across the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
This representation has included advice and counsel on negotiating joint ventures, purchase and sale agreements, management agreements, development and construction financing, ground leases with governments, workouts, loan assumptions, and operational matters, including retail leasing and project renovations.
Weiner recently joined the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts to continue to support the arts through her legal services. She has served on the Maryland Hall and Ballet Theatre of Maryland boards and offers pro bono legal services through her alma mater, Loyola University of Maryland’s expungement clinics.
She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
These are a few reasons we chose Kelly Shubic Weiner as one of the Washington DC Connect CRE’s 2023 Women in Real Estate Award winners.
