Jessica O’Connor is the HR Business Partner at Standard Communities. She took on the role in late 2021 and immediately transformed how Standard Communities and its HR department functioned. She plays a crucial role in retaining employees by fostering a positive workplace culture, addressing concerns, and providing growth opportunities. She has designed programs and initiatives to boost employee engagement.
Initiatives she spearheaded include adding a human resources information system to streamline activities and functions, bringing performance metrics to the HR function, increasing employee headcount by 26%, creating and implementing recruitment and onboarding processes and building the framework for an employee annual focal review process. O’Connor also helped expand and renovate the company’s New York City, Los Angeles and DC corporate offices.
