JPMorgan Chase

Originated more than $100 million in credit solutions since joining the company

Serves on Wacif board and is Women Impact Investing Network board chair

For the past two years, Jessel Amin has been executive director and senior commercial banker in the Community Development Banking group at JPMorgan Chase. In this position, she leads the team’s East Coast CDFI lending strategy.

She delivers comprehensive banking solutions that drive innovation and impact in historically disinvested communities. To date, Amin has originated over $100 million in innovative credit solutions for her clients that help to advance the firm’s $30-billion Racial Equity Commitment. This includes $14 billion for the creation and preservation of affordable housing.

One of Amin’s housing transactions included the Equitable Path Forward (EPF) Growth Fund. With its $40 million investment, the firm anchored the loan fund managed by Enterprise Community Loan Fund to provide flexible entity-level capital in the form of unsecured, low-cost, working capital and predevelopment financing to Black, Latino and other historically marginalized developers.

Before joining JPMorgan Chase, Amin was the senior manager of capital markets and investments with Capital Impact Partners, a National CDFI. In this role, she was the chair of the investment committee for a $3-million fund focused on innovative investment for community development.

She serves on the board of the Washington Area Community Loan Fund (Wacif) board and is also Chair of the Board for the Women Impact Investing Network (WIIN).

These are a few reasons we chose Jessel Amin as one of the Washington DC Connect CRE’s 2023 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and play key mentorship roles for others.
