Michelle Brown has over 25 years of experience representing public and private equity companies and developers in real estate transactions.

As a partner in Sheppard Mullin’s Real Estate, Energy, Land Use and Environmental practice, Brown specializes in real estate finance, acquisitions, and dispositions spanning numerous asset classes. She has market-leading expertise in borrower-side construction lending. She has represented many borrowers in over 170 construction loans with over $11 billion aggregate loans. Though based in Texas, Brown represents clients across the country.

In addition, she represents clients in the real estate aspects of M&A transactions and project development and finance transactions for energy industry participants. She has significant experience in multistate portfolio transactions, distressed asset transactions and loan assumptions.

During the past year, Brown represented clients on construction and term loans for multifamily and single-family rental communities over $2.2 billion. She teams representing Mill Creek Residential Trust LLC, a leading national developer, owner-operator and investment manager specializing in premier rental housing, in connection with construction loans to finance the development and construction of multifamily projects in Dallas, McKinney and Conroe, TX.

Chambers USA recognized Brown as one of the country’s leading real estate lawyers in 2023.
