Dipika Patel
Launched Homz to develop sustainable, wllness-focused, attainable multifamily housing
Regularly visits women's shelters in the area to help empower residents
Dipika Patel’s passion for bridging the equality gap and improving the world catalyzed her co-founding Homz in 2022. Using her extensive knowledge of real estate and borrowing a page from the hospitality playbook – an industry she knows well – Patel’s vision for Homz is to build a portfolio of sustainable, wellness-focused multifamily communities centered around branded attainable housing in key markets across the U.S.
Patel believes that by standardizing the layout of each of its communities, Homz will be able to unlock efficiencies like a faster development process and significant cost savings. These can be transferred in the form of attainably-priced apartments.
Patel spent the past two years putting the company in a position to break ground on its first communities. She and her team have met with city officials in tier-two markets nationwide. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many development agreements in place.
In addition to her responsibilities as a business leader, Patel leverages her knowledge and relationships to help many aspiring female and underrepresented ethnic groups who reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth area get their businesses off the ground and advance their careers. Patel visits shelters in the area and meets with women to empower them and serve as a resource to help them get back on their feet.
These are a few reasons we chose Dipika Patel as one of the Texas Connect CRE’s 2023 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and play key mentorship roles for others.
