Her practice extends to hospitality work encompassing mixed-use and all-inclusive resort spaces worldwide. Outside the real estate hospitality field, Carol serves as principal transactional counsel to a prominent Native American tribe in handling one of the country’s largest gaming and hospitality projects.
Notable highlights include leading a team that advised Brookfield Asset Management on its $835-million sale of the 1,000-room Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, FL, to a joint venture between Credit Suisse Asset Management and Trinity Fund Advisors.

She also serves on the Planning Committee for the Georgetown University Law Center’s annual Hotel and Lodging Legal Summit.
King is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association. She’s been recognized by Chambers U.S.A., the Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers and Legal 500 U.S. Real Estate. King obtained her law degree from the University of Virginia.
These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Carol Weld King with Connect CRE’s 2023 Washington DC Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
