As partner and co-head of Vinson & Elkins’ Real Estate Practice Group, Paul Martin focuses on real estate, private equity and general business transactions. He represents clients in various real estate transactions and financing and institutional lenders, investors and public companies in acquiring and disposing commercial property of all product types. He also works in commercial leasing, including sale-leasebacks and build-to-suit leases, lease disputes, and general corporate representation.
Notable highlights include representing Spear Street Capital in acquiring the 966,924-square-foot 500 W. Monroe in Chicago. He also represented 7-Eleven in relocating its corporate headquarters from One Arts Plaza in the Dallas Arts District to a 325,000-square-foot building in the Irving, TX, Cypress Waters Development.
Martin is a member of the Texas Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association and the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate, and Trust Section. He provides pro bono legal services.
Martin has been recognized by Chambers U.S.A., the Legal 500 U.S., Texas Super Lawyers and the Best Lawyers in America. D Magazine honored him as one of “The Best Lawyers in Dallas” and “Best Lawyers under 40,” and he’s listed in Who’s Who Legal.
