Billie Ellis Jr. is a partner with Winston & Strawn. His real estate and corporate practice involves private equity, financial, commercial, and real estate transactions, including the acquisitions, financing, development and sale of all properties and companies.
Ellis is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the Texas College of Real Estate Lawyers. He’s an adjunct professor with the University of Texas School of Law, a life fellow with the Texas Bar Association, and Chancellor’s Counsel with the University of Texas.
Ellis has been designated as a “Lion of the Bar.” He’s been recognized by The Legal 500 U.S., Chambers U.S.A., Super Lawyers and the Best Lawyers in America. D Magazine named him to its “Best Lawyers” list, and he’s been honored as an influencer by The Business Journals. He received the Dan Rugeley Price Memorial Award from the Texas Bar Foundation.
Ellis earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
