As co-head of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s global real estate practice, Howard Schreiber advises institutional investors and lenders on matters relating to their real estate assets. He works with his clients on real estate financing and drafts and negotiates the documentation related to financing transactions.

Additionally, he regularly assists with drafting and negotiating contracts for the purchase and sale of real estate and personal property; extensive loan workouts and modifications; drafting and negotiation of tenant leases (from the landlord’s and tenant’s perspective); and related asset management documentation.

Notable highlights include representing the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI), and a group of commercial banks on a $4.369-billion senior secured project debt finance, letter of credit and working capital facilities to finance construction and operation of Train 1 of a multitrain natural gas liquefaction and export facilities project on Quintana Island near Freeport, TX.

He also represented a financial institution in the over $400-million financing needed for a 1.8-million-square-foot Texas headquarters campus acquisition.

Schreiber is a Dallas Bar Association and American College of Mortgage Attorneys member and a Texas Bar Foundation fellow. He has been recognized by the Legal 500 U.S., Chambers U.S.A. and Best Lawyer.

These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Howard Schreiber with Connect CRE’s 2023 Texas Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
