Eric A. Grasberger

Represented the transportation district in its light-rail expansion
Eric Grasberger is a partner of Stoel Rieves. His practice involves construction and design law, including contract drafting and negotiating, delay, impact and productivity claims, lien, bond and other payment claims, construction defect claims and public contracting. Grasberger is also chair of Stoel Rives’ Construction and Design group. Significant engagements include energy and industrial plant construction, high-tech manufacturing, infrastructure projects, multifamily projects and commercial and residential high-rise and mid-rise projects.
In 2005, the State of Oregon appointed Grasberger to the Construction Claims Task Force and then was elected to chair the group. The Task Force’s goal was to research and recommend statutory and building code changes to the 74th Oregon Legislative Assembly that would reduce construction and design defects plaguing commercial and residential construction consumers and industry members alike.
Grasberger represented a high-tech company in its manufacturing plant expansion projects, which included delay, productivity, and defect claims arising from facility construction (Oregon and Arizona) and in preparing forms for international use. He also represented the transportation district in its expansion of the light rail.
Grasberger has been recognized by the Best Lawyers in America and Oregon Super Lawyers and was selected as one of Oregon Business Journal’s Top Forty Under 40. He is a fellow with the Construction Lawyers Society of America and the Associated General Contractors’ past lead counsel to the Board and past chair. He’s a member of the American Bar Association (active with the Public Contract Law Section and Litigation Section) and the Multnomah Bar Association (where he is a member of the Construction and Government Law Sections).
On the community level, Grasberger is a participating attorney and past Program Manager with the MCLAS Pro Bono Clinic and is on the March of Dimes, Lewis & Clark chapter’s board. He is also a former board member and vice chairman of Valley Catholic Schools.
Grasberger received his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Eric Grasberger with Connect CRE’s 2023 Seattle & Northwest Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
