Mark Edelstein

A respected leader at Morrison Foerster, Mark Edelstein is the chair of the Global Real Estate Group. He has over three decades of experience representing leading financial institutions, real estate companies, owners, acquirers, sellers and investors in some of their most high-profile transactions.

Edelstein is a key advisor to JPMorgan Chase Bank, assisting the client with its most complex real estate financing work. He represented Wells Fargo in its role as the administrative agent and lead arranger of a $1.8-billion construction loan for an office and retail tower at 50 Hudson Yards. Additionally, Edelstein is representing Société Générale and Standard Chartered Bank in a $2.11-billion senior secured portfolio mortgage financing of 155 industrial properties located in 19 states compromising 30 million square feet.

Under Edelstein’s leadership, the award-winning team continues to be recognized by various publications, including being named “Law Firm of the Year” and “Law Firm – Transaction of the Year” at Real Estate Capital USA Awards in 2023 and being recently named Law360 Practice Group of the Year. Edelstein has been named Trailblazer by the National Law Journal and a Real Estate MVP by Law 360.

He’s also been recognized by Chambers U.S.A., The Legal 500 U.S., Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and Who’s Who Legal.

Edelstein obtained his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
