Luke Hamagiwa
Oversees portfolio of nine properties totaling more than 3 million square feet
Led the acquisition and disposition of 2.1 million square feet since joining KBS
As Vice President, Acquisitions and Asset Management with KBS, Luke Hamagiwa is responsible for overseeing acquisition and management throughout parts of KBS’ Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States portfolio. He is in charge of carrying out the company’s investment objectives, executing strategic business plans for each asset within his portfolio, along with new acquisition opportunities and joint-venture partnerships.
Hamagiwa presently oversees a portfolio of nine Class A properties totaling more than three million square feet in the Chicago, DC Metro and Philadelphia markets. These assets have contributed to KBS’ $4.7 billion-plus transaction volume since inception and comprise an appreciable segment of the properties the firm owns and manages in some of the country’s strongest growth markets.
Since joining KBS in 2016, Hamagiwa has led the acquisition and disposition of more than 2.1 million square feet of assets with a transactional value of more than $421 million. Throughout the pandemic, he was able to make top-level asset management decisions that furthered KBS’ overall success during the crisis.
In 2021, Hamagiwa relocated across the country from Newport Beach, CA to KBS’ Arlington, VA office to assume responsibility for some of the firm’s Mid-Atlantic markets. At the same time, he received his MBA from Northwestern University.
Hamagiwa is recognized as a distinguished leader and inspirational mentor for the company’s younger team members.
These are just a few reasons we chose Luke Hamagiwa as one of Connect CRE National’s 2023 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s seventh annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
