From the moment Jessica Hobbs joined Mesa West Capital in 2015, her impact on the company and its continued growth and success has been impossible to ignore, colleagues say. Based in Lons Angeles, she was recently promoted to head of capital formation and business development at Mesa West, the $8-billion real estate credit arm of Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
One of Hobbs’ greatest strengths is her ability to interact and connect with people, and that ability allows her to connect on a very personal level. She has the rare ability to put people at ease and to convey to them that she and her colleagues understand what is important to them and find the common ground on which to achieve their common goal of success.
“Jess is widely viewed within the pension fund and institutional investor universe as a rising leader in the industry and at Mesa West is instrumental in our fundraise activities,” said Mesa West CEO and co-founder Jeff Friedman. “Her efforts during her time at Mesa West have been nothing short of exemplary and her ability to develop strong and trusting relationships with our investors has been a huge part of our continued growth and success.”
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Hobbs as one of the National 2021 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
