Jennifer Owen is a shareholder with Higier Allen & Lautin. Throughout her 25-year career, Owen has been the first chair for numerous jury and bench trials before state and federal courts. Notable trials include a successful defense of a bank client in a case of first impression in Texas involving whether the payee description on a check indicated payees were payable jointly or in the alternative.
Owen also performs nationwide reviews of all practices, fees for compliance with state law for national multifamily property management clients and drafts form leases and addenda for numerous multifamily landlord clients. Well-versed in fair housing and anti-discrimination matters, Owen frequently defends clients in fair housing claims and teaches seminars on conducting business consistent with fair housing law.
Owen is a founding member of the Legal Services Program of the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas; she also serves on the AAGD’s Legislative Committee. Owen is a Texas Apartment Association Click ‘n Lease Committee member and a fellow with the Texas Bar Foundation.
Owen earned her J.D. from the Washington University School of Law.
