Tanner Maddux
Secured institutional private equity for Two Tree Capital, which he launched
Oversees the team that handles affordable rental housing investments and development
As Chief Investment Officer of Sunstone Two Tree, Tanner Maddux brings his years of experience in real estate private equity, real estate development and entrepreneurship to help drive growth. This comes into play as the company works to increase the nation’s stock of high-quality, attainable rental housing. In his role, Maddux is responsible for overseeing the teams that handle both the development of new communities as well as acquisitions of existing multifamily properties that need refurbishment.
Maddux joined the company in March 2023, with the merger between Sunstone Properties Trust and Two Tree Capital. He served as Co-Founder and President of Two Tree Capital, which he launched to develop high-quality build-to-rent communities.
At just 30 years old, Maddux was successful in securing institutional real estate private equity as investors for Two Tree Capital’s large-scale projects. He also helped grow the company’s dynamic management team to include those with experience in private equity, real estate development, construction, land acquisition, civil engineering, operations and law.
With his entrepreneurial drive, Maddux sees a lot of opportunity ahead as the economic cycle re-sets, making it an attractive time to acquire and make moves.
