Karen Baines Led Colliers’ Portland Office’s Consolidation
Karen Baines, regional operations manager for Colliers’ Pacific Northwest region, oversees financial and operational functions supporting brokerage departments in Portland, Seattle and Bellevue. Her responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, staffing, recruiting, onboarding and succession planning, helping align regional resources with business needs.
In 2024, Baines led the relocation and consolidation of Colliers’ Portland office, bringing multiple departments together in a more collaborative workplace while maintaining oversight of ongoing regional operations. She also helped onboard more than 30 employees and brokers over two years, supporting recruitment, integration and employee development across the region.
Baines joined Colliers in 2001 as an administrative assistant and advanced through multiple roles to her current regional position.
Beyond daily operations, Baines mentors colleagues through Colliers’ formal mentorship program and informally coaches administrative professionals and emerging managers. She serves on the Colliers Operations Advisory Board, contributing training materials and resources for operations managers nationwide.
Her contributions earned her a Spirit of Colliers Award, a Circle of Excellence Award and the Private Capital Advisors Group’s Outstanding Collaborator Award. She also served as a judge for the Spirit of Colliers awards in 2024.
In the community, Baines is treasurer and a board member of the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology. She also supports environmental cleanup efforts through SOLVE Oregon and We Believe in Portland, as well as charitable initiatives with Habitat for Humanity and Blanchet House.
These are just a few reasons Karen Baines is among the Seattle & Northwest Connect CRE 2026 Women in Real Estate Award winners. The award honors the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
