Oversaw development of over $500 million in real estate properties in past year

Testified on legislation impacting the affordable housing industry

Timothy Alcott is Executive Vice President, Development and Counsel with Opportunity Home San Antonio. In this role, he has overseen over $2 billion in real estate development, resulting in the construction of more than 15,000 units of multifamily apartments for working families and affordable senior communities.

Within the past year, Alcott oversaw the development of more than $500 million in real estate properties and testified on significant legislation impacting the industry.

Alcott’s approach to housing involves layering public and private funding streams—including public-private partnerships, debt issuance, construction financing, LIHTC, and local, state and federal dollars—to bridge the affordability gap.

Alcott has shaped policy in Texas, assisting in drafting key legislation to streamline affordable housing development. He is a recognized expert and frequent speaker on affordable housing finance, an active member of the ULI and the Federal Bar Association and previously served as Vice President and Secretary of the Association of Corporate Counsel.

The San Antonio Business Journal named one of the top in-house counsel in the region.

These are some of the reasons why Timothy Alcott received Connect CRE’s 2025 Texas Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
