Expanded Whitney's national reach, securing licensure and registration in 45 states
Melissa Bogusch is President | Managing Principal, Architect of Record, and IT Director of Whitney Architects. She wears multiple hats, overseeing the firm’s business paperwork, monitoring staff workloads, assigning project teams and overseeing HR matters. As Architect of Record, she performs Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews, provides code expertise, and signs and seals Construction Documents across 45 states and DC. Other activities include managing the IT budget, managing software and hardware issues, and maintaining equipment.
She spearheaded Whitney’s corporate restructuring in 2022, including the establishment of a formal Board of Directors for corporate governance and an Executive Management Team to facilitate company operations.
Bogusch expanded Whitney’s national reach, securing professional licensure and corporate registration in 45 states, including California and Washington, DC. This expansion enabled the firm to offer architectural services nationwide, particularly benefiting key clients like US Cellular, Option Care Health and United Health Group.
In addition, she mentors young women in the office, guiding them through the licensure processes.
Bogusch received AIA NEI’s Outstanding Young Architect Award and was named Architect of the Year by the Illinois Real Estate Journal. She is chair of the UTSOA Advisory Council, served as a design juror for the Triton College Design competition and as an IREJ panelist. She is also involved with Chicago Women in Architecture and AIA NEI.
These are just a few reasons Melissa Bogusch is among the winners of the Chicago & Midwest Connect CRE 2024 Women in Real Estate Award.
