Krystal Kurinsky
Supervised $5.8-million modernization project at 181 West Madison
Helped the building achieve LEED Gold certificiation
Krystal Kurinsky is Transwestern’s general manager of 181 West Madison in downtown Chicago. In this role, she assists with capital projects, tenant construction, accounting issues, service contract negotiations and building/tenant issues. In addition to her daily activities, Kurinsky spearheads projects to increase the property’s value, like implementing power-saving initiatives. Through her efforts, the building achieved LEED Gold certification in 2014 and has earned more than $500,000 in ComEd rebates.
Additional accomplishments include supervising a $5.8-million elevator modernization project and the construction of the building’s full-floor conference center and tenant lounge. She oversaw more than 1.5 million square feet of leasing at 181 West Madison.
Mentorship has proven to be a cornerstone of Kurinsky’s management style. During her time as general manager, 16 of her team members became assistant or general managers and remained in the industry. Additionally, she has been instrumental in planning the Transwestern Midwest Engineering Awards.
Kurinsky’s charitable through 181 West Madison include the Greater Chicago Food Depository Food Drive, Salvation Army Coat Drive, Big Brothers Big Sisters Backpack Drive, Off the Street Club Halloween Candy Drive, Wings Clothing Drive, American Red Cross Blood Drives and buildOn. Kurinsky also spearheads the annual 181 West Madison Holiday Decorations auction.
Kurinsky has been recognized as Transwestern’s Midwest Property Manager of the Year and BOMA/Chicago Property Manager of the Year.
