Mary Ellen Hird is the Vice President of Financial Reporting at InvenTrust Properties Corp. In this role, she oversees the company’s regulatory reporting, internal controls, financial statement audits, fixed assets, and corporate accounting and contributes to budgeting and forecasting processes. 

She manages a high-performance team and fosters a culture of creative thinking and problem-solving. Her responsibilities include interfacing with executives, attorneys, investors, auditors, and financial experts. Hird is a central figure in the financial operations of the company’s $2-billion real estate investments and over 10 million leasable square feet.

During her 12-year tenure at InvenTrust, Hird has been a pivotal force behind numerous transformational transactions, including the company’s direct listing on the NYSE in October 2021 and the sale of its student housing portfolio for $1.4 billion in June 2016.

Hird is an active community member, volunteering to coach a local children’s soccer team and participating perennially in St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s events, raising funds for children’s cancer research.
