Megan Abraham
Quadrupled the organization's budget under her tenure
Established the Goldie Gala, a major fundraiser
Megan Abraham is the CEO of The Goldie Initiative, a nonprofit organization devoted to preparing women to advance as leaders in commercial real estate. In her role, she oversees the organization’s administration, programs, and strategic plans.
Under Abraham’s tenure, the organization’s budget has quadrupled. Significant accomplishments include the establishment of the Goldie Gala, a fundraising event, in 2017; in 2024, the event is expected to host over 1,000 attendees and raise well over $1 million for the organization. In addition, one program, known as “Goldie Scholars,” has quadrupled and grown in scope beyond the Midwest. The 2024-2025 Goldie Scholar cohort is made up of 38 female graduate students from 18 universities nationwide.
Abraham is a steadfast supporter and promoter of Goldie Scholars and Alumnae, as well as board members of The Goldie Initiative and other stakeholders, to ensure that female voices are consistently represented in the commercial real estate industry.
She is also a faculty member at Spertus, where she teaches about fundraising and strategic initiatives. Abraham goes above and beyond to help Goldie Scholars and Alumnae make meaningful connections, with the ultimate goal of creating a pathway to C-suite-level leadership for women in the CRE industry.
In May 2024, The Goldie Initiative received the Chicago Commercial Real Estate Award for “Special Achievement of the Year.” The Jewish community has recognized Abraham herself for advancing innovative social impact programming.
These are just a few reasons Megan Abraham is one of the Chicago & Midwest Connect CRE 2024 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
