Tingting Zhang

Tingting Zhang is the founder and CEO of TerraCotta Group. In her role, she oversees TerraCotta’s investment activities and manages portfolio risk. She leads the firm’s four organizational groups: the investment team, a think tank, real estate data scientists and data engineers, all of which work together to generate positive investment results.

TerraCotta pioneered predictive analytics in CRE credit investing, while Zhang pioneered the application of data-driven methodologies to evaluate real estate credit investments. Under Zhang’s leadership, TerraCotta has built a strong track record, with no single credit loss since the firm’s inception. The company is one of the few in the CRE or private credit industries owned by a woman and a member of an ethnic minority group.

Zhang and the firm have raised over $500 million from institutional investors, pension funds and family offices. She is also leading the firm’s initiative to launch the TerraCotta Opportunities Credit Fund, LP (TCOCF), a closed-ended fund which will invest in opportunistic, sub-performing, and non-performing CRE secured loans and has a target size of $750 million.

During the Great Financial Crisis, Zhang co-founded the Special Assets Management Association, the only trade organization for banking executives and other professionals engaged in special assets management. She has been recognized as one of sixty global honorees in Private Equity International’s (PEI) special report on Women of Influence in Private Markets. Zhang was also listed in the LA 500.
