Steve Gebing and Cliff David are Executive Managing Directors with Institutional Property Advisors, a division of Marcus & Millichap. During 2022, the team, which works out of the company’s Phoenix office and has a focus on the Southwest and Mountain West, closed a total of 52 multifamily transactions totaling $4.2 billion. During the year, the team facilitated four of the five top conventional multifamily asset sales by price per unit in the Phoenix MSA’s history.
Notable transactions included the $260-million sale of the 369-unit Moderne in Scottsdale, AZ, which represented the largest single-asset core multifamily sale in Arizona history. The team also managed the $193.5-million sale of the 356-unit Roadrunner, also in Scottsdale. This transaction’s price-per-unit was the highest in Arizona’s history for an institutionally sized apartment building, while also taking honors as the second-largest single multifamily sale overall in Arizona’s history.
Other transactions included the 826-unit Hilands in Tucson, which sold for $178 million (the highest single-asset multifamily transaction in Tucson’s history). They also brokered the sale of the 240-unit Liv North Scottsdale for $145 million, and the $150-million sale of the 274-unit SeventyOne15 McDowell, also in Scottsdale.
