Richard Tranter is Phillips Edison’s Vice President, Associate General Counsel. As lead attorney for the company’s West region, he handles all aspects of real estate law, including leasing, ground leasing, development, redevelopment, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, construction, tenant default, and bankruptcy matters. Tranter also manages a team of five attorneys, two paralegals and two administrators.
Tranter negotiated over 2,000 leases and assisted with over $150 million in development and redevelopment activities. He supported nearly $500 million in acquisitions and dispositions, securing over $1 billion in financing.
Within the company, Tranter sponsors PECO Connect (culture and engagement committee) and is an Annual Meeting Committee member. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, serving on the organization’s Legal Advisory Council. He also served on the ICSC’s Ohio Government Relations Committee.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law.
