Assists clients with protecting real estate assets, tax liability minimization and dispute resolutions
Molly Phelan is a partner with Siegel Jennings, and she helps clients identify, maximize, and protect the full potential of their real estate assets, minimize related tax liabilities, and resolve disputes with tax authorities and government entities. She represents clients in hearings before review boards, local assessors’ offices, the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board and the circuit courts. She strategizes with clients on tax assessment valuations, commercial development incentives, government incentives, reclassifications, exemptions, tax parcel divisions, municipal land banks and property tax abatement issues.
Phelan is a member of the Chicagoland Association of Realtors, CREW-Chicago, the Chicago Bar Association and IPT. In the community, she is a board member of the Goldie Initiative and Roosevelt University’s Marshall Bennett Institute for Real Estate. She also volunteers with the Queen of Angels Parish and School.
Phelan earned her law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Molly Phelan with Connect CRE’s 2023 Chicago & Midwest Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
